Several of the founding members, pictured here, are still involved with the airport and with AAA.
Auburn Aviation Association began in 1984 as a small group of pilots and airport enthusiasts dedicated to aviation safety, friendship, and community involvement. The years since then have been a tribute to their foresight and dedication to this cause. From a small group to more than two hundred members, they represent a large cross-section of the aviation community from all over the United States and have helped to make this airport one of the most popular in northern California. As a non-profit organization, this group has been able to promote the next generation of aviators through its aviation scholarship fund, worked with the City of Auburn to make the airport self-sufficient, and has been able to financially contribute to various community organizations.
